Texas Christian University and GoalQuest Announce Successful Debut of Interactive Student Retention Program More Than 80% of TCU Freshmen Enroll in FYRe™ During 2007-2008 Academic Year New York, NY — April 26, 2007 Today, GoalQuest Inc. and Texas Christian University announced that the implementation of the company's FYRe™ student development and retention program exceeded performance expectations during its first year of use. Over 80% of TCU freshmen elected to use the FYRe program, which provides administrators with a sophisticated reporting dashboard, enabling them to track student concerns as well as students at risk of attrition. Known to students as eFrog, the program offers a variety of custom-written, self-help content and activities in areas such as health and wellness, choosing a major, navigating roommate relationships, preparing for exams and honing study skills. The highly immersive modules incorporate a range of GoalQuest's textual, video, interactive and e-community features, including:
TCU also utilizes GoalQuest and PICS™ (Parents Involved in College Success), designed to help parents better support their students by offering them tips and advice. "Four out of five of our freshmen have used eFrog and, while it is too early to say for certain, early results suggest we have had increases in retention," said Patrick Miller, registrar and director of enrollment management at Texas Christian University. We have also been very impressed with the degree to which our GoalQuest project has been branded as a uniquely TCU effort. This is true in areas where you would expect it, such as colors and logo, but it is also true in regard to text, articles and pictures. Our students assume these are created specifically for them. In addition, GoalQuest was able to create a single sign-on process that integrated perfectly with our portal." "We are extremely pleased with TCU's strong FYRe participation," said Gregory Zeleny, vice president of client services at GoalQuest. "This engagement, combined with our reporting center's ability to help the school track students at risk, will create an optimal environment for increased student retention and satisfaction."
