GoalQuest Inc. and Stetson University today announced the
successful debut and extremely positive results of their joint
Web-based program designed to increase enrollment yield and
new student preparedness. Stetson uses EYOp™ (Enrollment Yield
Optimization), a communication tool that helps to matriculate
those students who have been offered admission to the
University by mitigating yield impediments such as summer melt
among undecided students in particular.
According to Terry Whittum, dean of admissions and
financial aid, "The results of the program have been great.
This year we saw our largest increase in yield from an
applicant pool ever. In terms of process, GoalQuest had the
program up and running in six weeks. The response time was
excellent."
As part of the EYOp development process, GoalQuest's
content team worked with Stetson administrators to write and
design a series of Web-based modules, which encourage students
to take the next steps and provide a comprehensive
"pre-orientation" to campus life. Topics created for Stetson's
program, known to admitted students as Starting @ Stetson,
include:
- Living on Campus
- Next Steps and Important Dates
- Financing Your Education
- Focus on Your Career
- Thinking About Your Major
- High School vs. College: Academics
- High School vs. College: Social Life
- First Week Survival Kit
Stetson's EYOp program also utilizes UPeers™ and UScene™,
two popular tools from the GoalQuest Universe suite. UPeers
lets admitted students share their personal and academic
interests, concerns and questions with a network of other
admitted students. UScene enables students to read about on-
and off-campus venues (e.g., museums, hotels, restaurants,
cafes, campus resources, etc.). Both features work to increase
students' familiarity with campus life while connecting them
to the environment in which they will study and socialize.
"We are extremely pleased with the effectiveness of our
EYOp program at Stetson," said Tracy Howe, GoalQuest
co-founder and executive vice president of sales. "Admitted
students embraced UPeers in particular, as students averaged
more than 25 logins each. And, unlike other online
communities, when students engage in UPeers, they are exposed
to key recruiting and pre-orientation messaging. That
combination - a compelling e-community and highly relevant
content - is what makes EYOp such a powerful yield tool."
