GoalQuest Inc. and Montclair State University today announced that applications to the University's 2006 first-year class have increased more than 16 percent over last year, forming the largest undergraduate applicant pool in the institution's ninety-eight year history.

Montclair State and GoalQuest attribute part of the increase to the University's use of eCRUIT™ and PICS:eCRUIT™, two of the company's enrollment management tools, which work as virtual admissions officers and counselors throughout the application process. The programs, known to college-bound high school students as ePilot and Parent ePilot respectively, cover topics such as scholarships and financing, academics and majors, careers and internships and exploring New York City. The ultimate goal of eCRUIT and PICS:eCRUIT is to increase the number of applicants to a college or university.

Montclair State also uses several of the company's yield, retention and senior transition tools.

Montclair State's programs utilize the company's advanced survey and assessment technology to help the University identify and reach out to desirable yet "on-the-fence" candidates during critical points in the recruiting and yield process. The programs also take advantage of virtual community components from the company's Universe Suite of Tools, including UBlog™ and UScene™.
