GoalQuest and William Paterson University Announce Strategic Technology Initiative to Enhance Enrollment Yield
Multi-Year Agreement Helps WPU Establish a Dynamic Communication Flow to Usher Students From Admission to Fall Enrollment
New York, New York — April 29, 2005
GoalQuest, Inc. and William Paterson University today announced that they have partnered to create a unique pre-orientation program for students who have been admitted to the University. The Web-based program, which launched earlier this year, is titled Live it. Learn it. A Guide to Charting a New Course.
The new service uses GoalQuest EYOp™ (Enrollment Yield Optimization), a product designed to increase the number, diversity and quality of students who ultimately enroll at an institution. Custom-written, designed and hosted by GoalQuest’s award-winning service staff, EYOp increases yield and helps reduce "summer melt", minimizing the impact of students who choose to send enrollment deposits to more than one school.
Live it. Learn it. engages students with advice on topics like "High School vs. College," "Skills to Pay the Bills," "Time Management Tips," "Diversity 101" and "Roomie Relations." Each topic is paired with GoalQuest-produced digital video of campus scenes and features current students relating their insights into and passion for the school’s academic and social experience. The program’s title reflects the University’s approach to education, which is to combine classroom learning with real-world experiences to help students succeed in college and in life.
According to Dr. John A. Martone, Associate Vice President and Dean of Student Development at WPU, "EYOp has allowed us to quickly plan and implement a relevant and frequent communication stream. By proactively reaching out to students and immersing them 'virtually' in campus life months before they arrive, we believe the Live it. Learn it. program will result in both a greater yield percentage and a better prepared first-year class."
Unlike a Web site or Web "portal," the new service incorporates GoalQuest’s proprietary adaptive technology, which reminds users when there is fresh content to explore. The system deploys new content over the course of several months and automatically adapts its messaging relative to the progress of each participant.
A sophisticated Reporting Center tracks student progress through the program and compiles answers to interactive surveys designed to distill each student’s disposition toward the school, as well as their likelihood to yield.
"We’re excited to be working with William Paterson University, a school whose commitment to bringing technological innovation to its students is well known," said GoalQuest’s Executive Vice President of Sales and Co-founder, Tracy Howe. "Given the University’s emphasis on state-of-the-art technology, we believe it’s significant that WPU has chosen GoalQuest to apply its proven solutions in the yield window."
