Patient Pathway is a structured, interactive therapy companion available to students currently in treatment. Therapists refer their clients to participate and are able to view their homework and assessment data as well as track their progress through a live reporting center.
How Does It Work?
Students only engage in content that is relevant to their presenting problem (e.g., depression, anxiety, eating disorder). The topics covered within the content area are deployed as a series of sequential steps. Each step is composed of articles, self-assessment tools (i.e., Self-Tests), self-improvement modules (i.e., eSessions) and homework activities delivering psychoeducational content developed within a cognitive-behavioral framework.
For example, students engaged in Patient Pathway: Depression would participate in the following steps:
- Step 1: Getting Started
- Step 2: Health and Wellness
- Step 3: Understanding Your Emotions
- Step 4: Your Behaviors
- Step 5: Depressive Thinking
- Step 6: Relationships and Moving Forward
- Step 7: Medication Monitoring
Every week, clients are invited to read through new informational and educational articles related to that step's theme. They are sent regular emails to remind them to complete their daily self-monitoring homework. Students are able to print out homework, self-test results, and eSession reports for review in session. The content and activities are enhanced with interactive flash, video and audio components.
